Saltire Summer Camps 2019

Who:  Children ages 7 – 15

When:  The Weeks of 6/3; 6/10; 6/17; 6/24; 7/8; 7/15; 7/22

Where:  11723 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis, IN 46236

Times:  9am – 12pm; 1 – 4pm

Cost:  $150 per week for each camp (sibling and multi camp discounts)

How will campers spend their time?  Monday through Friday we will be working in groups, practicing cooperation, using our imaginations, painting/coloring, and NOT using ELECTRONIC devices. Each day campers will participate in get to know you activities, gaming sessions, and creative art activities. 

What will the campers gain?  We will practice working on being good winners and losers, reading, writing, cooperation, critical thinking, and math skills.  There is so much to learn through gaming! Each camper will also receive $50 (retail value) of products geared specifically towards the camp they attend!

Who are the game masters?  Rebecca Cash is a 22 year teacher in Lawrence Township, specializes in our family games and is one of our Pokemon Professors.  Chase Walker just finished his second year at Indiana State majoring in elementary education is an avid gamer and pintrest browser! 

What do the campers need to bring?  Only a snack and drink – no peanuts please due to possible allergies.  We will provide everything else.

What should campers wear? Play clothes!  We will be painting and using sharpies!

Role-playing game Basics
June 3rd – 7th 1 – 4pm
July 15th – 19th 9 – 12pm

We will play the penultimate role playing game – Dungeons and Dragons! We will try others as well to help campers create characters, go on adventures, and divy up the loot!  This is a great way to practice reading and math skills while working cooperatively.

Pokemon is more than just a bunch of cards!  Join our professors and learn to play the game, build a deck, and participate in a tournament.  This fun game helps practice reading and math skills as well a critical thinking and planning.

Wizardry 101

June 10th – 14th 9 – 12pm

June 24th – 28th 1 – 4pm

July 22nd – 26th 9 – 12pm

Join us for a spell casting extravaganza! As we meet some famous wizards and meet some new ones and play all kinds of games around this theme.  Wizards in training will make cool crafts and spend the week working together to defeat their foes!
Board Games Galore!
June 17th  21st 9 – 12pm

July 22nd – 26th 1 – 4pm

Learn to play all types of board games – cooperative, competitive, and party (of the family variety)!  These engaging games will help teach cooperation, health winning and losing, and critical thinking skills.  

Game Design 101
June 10th – 14th 1 – 4pm

July 8th – 12th 1 – 4pm

Campers will be introduced to various types of board games and then be given the tools to create their own!  Designer will come up with a concept, prototype, and rulebook followed by play testing and fine tuning. They will leave camp with a game that is all their own!

Let’s get ready to RUUUUMMMMBLE!  Who doesn’t love wrestling? Wrestling has been adapted to all sort of tabletop games!  We will be painting, playing, and crafting all kind of fun wrestling showdowns! Let’s show how brawny our brains are in these critical thinking, exciting games.
